2022 Camino de Santiago

DAY 1: Madrid

I had a bit of a layover in Madrid on my first day in Spain. Normally, I would NEVER dream of leaving the airport between flights, but you only have one life so you should get on with living it. I took the bus into city center and walked around for a while.

El Retiro Park: Great Pool of the Retreat

This park is HUGE and I didn't have nearly the time needed to explore the entire thing. Still happy that I was able to wander through for a bit, backpack and all. A couple of tourist girls stopped me to take their portrait with an instant camera. They asked the right person.

Pamplona

I spent the first night in Pamplona and was not trampled by bulls. I saw exactly zero bulls. I arrived around 9:30 and the sun had just set. The city was still full of people wandering around looking for food and bars.
